Hi Joy Tribe,
Do you know the beauty of dancing and living in the unknown?
It’s the endless possibilities! And then, the trust, inner peace, and serenity that go along with accepting it.
Living in the unknown is about allowing and trusting that ANYTHING is possible.
We might think that if we have it all planned out and that if we stay within the guidelines and take the necessary steps, all should go well.
But what happens when things don’t go as planned?
I’ve had MANY of my plans go awry (both personally and professionally).
I had originally mapped out my life as an accountant and later a CFO of a company. But life happened, and I got sick (can’t get up from your bed sick). I had to quit my job to take care of myself and regain my health (and this was most certainly not part of my “perfect” life plan).
I resisted it. I denounced it. I cried about it. I made myself sicker. But it wasn’t until I accepted it and chose to see what else was possible, that I was able to move forward.
It wasn’t easy. But with trust, courage, persistence, and allies, I am now in a place I would have never imagined… And it is SO much better than my wildest dreams!!
This path I now walk on fills my heart in a way that my previously mapped out life probably never would have. I am grateful that life took me in another direction because now I get to do what my soul wanted to do all along.
Inspire. Motivate. Teach.
Thank you for being a part of this!
It was through the challenges, obstacles, and changes to my plan that I got here. I had to CHOOSE to move forward. I had to CHOOSE to create new opportunities for myself. I no longer wanted to be stuck in the endless loop of “I should’ve, could’ve, would’ve.”
I have a life to live, and I can’t change the past. I can only learn from it. I’m ready to live in the present and co-create my life. Are you?
Trusting the Unknown
Building a level of trust with the unknown can be scary at first (your mind might start that “what-if this happens” panic talk).
But when you surrender to the greater good of what is inside the unknown, you set your direction with positive intention and openness to possibilities.
Side note: This doesn’t mean that everything will be rainbows and unicorns. Tough times will come. Challenges and obstacles will arise. But you’ll get through them faster when you’re not resisting them.
- You must ALLOW yourself to feel whatever emotion it is that the challenge brings out in you (momentarily).
- And then you must CHOOSE to trust that other possibilities can and will show up.
But, how do you choose to move forward?
Well, you have to be willing to drop your expectations of exactly how you think everything should go (Again, I used to have my life mapped out from A to Z… and all that did was bring heartache and pain whenever I couldn’t check something off my list).
Side note: I’m not saying you shouldn’t have plans. I have many plans, goals, and everything in between! The difference between my current self and my past self is that now I’m open to other ways of arriving at my goals (not just the ONE way that I can see right now).
Yes, there are moments of frustration. And there are moments of overwhelm and anxiety.
BUT after I’ve allowed those feelings to move through my body (I don’t resist them), I CHOOSE to:
- Breathe deeply
- Understand where these emotions are coming from
- Open myself up to other alternatives, perspectives, and options that are out there
Now, instead of seeing a problem or an obstacle, I see an opportunity to flex my creative muscles (and possibly cultivate patience on the side). 😉
Share your story!
- Have you ever had to let go of an expectation (an attachment to only one outcome)?
- Have you been surprised by the new possibility life presented you with once you let go?
Say yes to possibilities this week and see what unfolds!
