How many decisions do we make a day? Plenty, right?
And how many of them stress us out? How many do we procrastinate?
Do we take the poll? And what are you creating for yourself… stress, anxiety, worry, unease?
Many times, we’re worried about hurting someone else’s feelings or not being liked as a result of a decision or choice we make. As much as we may want to, we can’t control people’s emotions or reactions, so until we act, we won’t truly know how the scene will play out.
Although we know this, we spend countless hours creating all the multiple scenarios that can occur. And we don’t get back those countless hours of worry. Until we do what we have to do, we won’t know what the other person will say or how they’ll react.
Let’s start by becoming aware. What’s holding us back from making a decision?”
We all have an internal GPS, which my mentor, Jennifer Grace, likes to call YAK… You Always Know. We have all the wisdom we need already living inside of ourselves, and it’s such a tendency when we’re at a crossroads to take the poll. We ask everyone: “What do you think I should do?”
Typically, we receive different answers, and then we just don’t know what to do. So we need to get in touch with that place inside of us that already knows the answer.
Once you make a decision, you usually feel liberated – you free up mental real estate, and you give your mind the space it needs for creativity and intuition to show up in your life.
- How many people do you poll before you make a decision?
- How much time do you spend doing this? What else could you be doing with that time?
- How would you feel once you’ve made a choice?
We need to remember that we can make another choice in the future if the one we make doesn’t work out for us. Could there be pain and fear in between those two choices, yes, but something amazing could also be waiting for us.
You have all the answers inside of you; you just need to formulate the right questions to get to your truth.
When you find yourself at a crossroads, I want you to try a tool I teach my CIJourney students: The Yes or No Method.
Every time we make a choice guided by ourselves and not by what others think or say we should do, we’re:
- Cultivating our intuition
- Checking in with our needs & desires
- In tune with our bodies and physical reacting
- Opening up mental space
Check out this week’s video to learn a technique that’ll help you take action and make a decision without continuing to take the poll, procrastinating, and creating endless scenarios.
Once you’ve watched the video and have taken action, I want to hear all about it. Give me the details! Your story may just be the inspiration that another reader needs to see their life transformed too.
Thank you for jumping in and if you have a friend who needs to hear it too, share the love. I’ll be waiting with open arms.
With love & joy,
